Returns & Refund Policy
Effective Date: 11 August 2026
At A&L Beauty, we are committed to providing high-quality beauty products. Due to the hygienic nature of cosmetics, our Returns & Refund Policy has been designed to comply with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA") and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 ("ECT Act"), while protecting the health and safety of all customers.
1. General Returns Policy
Because our Jelly Blush Sticks are cosmetic products that come into direct contact with the skin, we cannot accept returns or exchanges for products that have been:
-
Opened;
-
Used or tested;
-
Unsealed;
-
Damaged through misuse; or
-
Returned without their original packaging.
This policy exists for hygiene and customer safety reasons.
2. Change of Mind Returns
We do not accept returns or provide refunds if you simply change your mind after receiving your order.
However, if South African law grants you a cooling-off right that applies to your purchase, those statutory rights will apply and nothing in this policy limits those rights.
Where a lawful cooling-off cancellation applies, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods unless South African law provides otherwise. Goods must be returned unused, unopened, in their original condition, with all seals intact and in the original packaging.
3. Incorrect Items
If we send you the wrong product, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
Provided the product remains unopened and unused, we will arrange collection or replacement at no additional cost to you.
4. Damaged During Delivery
If your order arrives damaged:
-
Notify us within 48 hours of delivery.
-
Include clear photographs of:
-
the parcel,
-
the shipping label,
-
the damaged product,
-
and the product packaging.
-
We may require the damaged item to be returned before processing a replacement or refund.
Failure to notify us within a reasonable time may affect our ability to process a courier damage claim.
5. Defective Products
Under the Consumer Protection Act, consumers have rights regarding goods that are defective, unsafe or fail to meet the required quality standards.
If your Jelly Blush Stick is genuinely defective due to a manufacturing fault, please contact us within 30 days of delivery.
Examples include:
-
Product mechanism not functioning correctly;
-
Product leaking before first use;
-
Product received broken despite intact packaging;
-
Manufacturing defects.
We may inspect or test the product before approving a refund, repair or replacement where permitted by law.
Damage caused by misuse, improper storage, accidental damage, normal wear, unauthorised alterations or failure to follow product instructions is not considered a manufacturing defect.
6. Hygiene Products
For the protection of all customers, we cannot accept returns of cosmetic products where:
-
the safety seal has been broken;
-
the product has been opened;
-
the product has been swatched;
-
the product has been used; or
-
the product has come into contact with skin.
This restriction does not affect any rights you may have where a product is defective or where South African law requires otherwise.
7. Return Conditions
Where a return is approved, products must:
-
be securely packaged;
-
include all original accessories and packaging;
-
include proof of purchase;
-
include your order number.
Returns that do not meet these conditions may be refused where legally permitted.
8. Refunds
Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method wherever possible.
Shipping charges are generally non-refundable unless:
-
we supplied the wrong product;
-
the product was defective;
-
the product arrived damaged; or
-
South African law requires otherwise.
Refund processing times depend on your payment provider and bank.
9. Return Shipping Costs
Unless required by law, customers are responsible for return shipping costs for approved discretionary returns.
If the return results from:
-
our error;
-
an incorrect order;
-
a defective product; or
-
a product damaged before delivery,
A&L Beauty will cover the reasonable return shipping costs.
10. Fraud Prevention
To protect our business against fraudulent claims, we reserve the right to:
-
request photographs or videos;
-
request additional information;
-
inspect returned products before issuing refunds;
-
refuse claims that are false, abusive or inconsistent with this policy or applicable law.
We reserve all legal rights regarding fraudulent return requests.
11. Non-Returnable Items
The following cannot be returned unless defective or required by law:
-
Opened cosmetic products;
-
Used cosmetic products;
-

Where this policy conflicts with mandatory consumer legislation, the applicable law will prevail.
